What to Bring

When you enroll your child in pre-K for the first time, you’ll need to provide some information to show that your child qualifies for free pre-K and to register.

I. Show You Are Eligible

In order to attend free public pre-K, your child must meet at least ONE of the following criteria:

Bring ONE of the following:

  • 2 most recent consecutive paycheck stubs (paid biweekly)
  • 4 most recent consecutive paycheck stubs (paid weekly)
  • Notarized letter from employer (paid in cash)
  • SSI Benefits Award Letter
  • Unemployment Letter
  • Child Support Letter
  • TANF Award Letter
  • SNAP Award Letter
  • Child must be present during enrollment for test to be administered
  • Typically takes 20 minutes or less
  • No costs for the test
  • Results are immediate

Bring foster child verification letter

A residency questionnaire or migrant survey will be provided at registration

II. Pre-K Enrollment Information

All families must bring all of the following documents to enrollment. If you don’t have these documents, call us for help.

  • Student Birth Certificate (Required)
  • Student Social Security Card (Optional)

  • Driver’s License, ID or Passport

  • Electricity, Gas, Water utility bill, or lease (must state parent/guardian’s name and address)
